Confidential Emotional Wellbeing Service

We're here to help you thrive, both personally and professionally.

Our Trust offers confidential counselling and psychology services to help you navigate life's challenges and boost your emotional wellbeing.

Access to the Emotional Wellbeing Service is easy based on a single point of access where the team will consider your request and triage you to the most appropriate service.

Simply email sft.emotionalhealth@nhs.net for a referral to either service.


Talk it out with Counselling

Sometimes, a chat is all it takes to gain perspective and find coping strategies.

We offer staff up to 6 confidential counselling sessions for a range of issues, including:

  • General anxiety and low mood
  • Stress management
  • Difficult life events
  • Anything affecting your wellbeing!


In-depth support with Clinical Psychology

For more complex issues, our Clinical Psychologists provide expert assessment and intervention for psychological issues that may have arisen because of work or are getting in the way of you feeling able to be at work.

This service is particularly helpful for:

  • Trauma
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Work-related challenges impacting your mental health

Our counselling and psychological support is not suitable for emergencies.

If you are in crisis, please contact your GP, the out-of-hours GP service, or call 999 for immediate assistance.

Community support with Talking Therapies

If you're feeling low, anxious, or stressed, you can access talking therapies through primary care. These therapies include both group and individual sessions, and offer support and interventions to help you feel better.

 

Access to Talking Therapies in Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire

This service is provided by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

Our Talking Therapy services (previously known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies - IAPT) aim to help you manage a range of common mental health problems including anxiety, stress, depression and low mood.

Our Talking Therapy services is available for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and the wider county of Wiltshire (BSW). You will need to be 16+ to access the service and currently have a registered GP in BSW.
