Drinking Alcohol Sensibly

Having a drink now and then does not harm your body. However, social drinking can, for some people, lead to heavier drinking which can cause serious health problems.

If you cut down your drinking, you can reduce your risk of:

  • cancer
  • stroke
  • heart disease
  • liver disease
  • mental health problems
  • diabetes
  • As alcohol is full of calories, reducing or cutting out drinking can help you lose weight as well as saving money!

If you would like more information on safe drinking levels and what to do if you need help please visit the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk or Drinkaware.

Taking Action on Addiction

Taking Action on Addiction is a national campaign that seeks to improve everyone's understanding of addiction and to end the stigma that surrounds addiction - and sometimes, even the stigma that comes with recovery.

If you're thinking about reaching out to find support, please know you're making a positive and important step, whether this if for you or for someone you may know.

If you're worried about substance use (alcohol, drugs, gambling or something else), there's a wide range of support available.

We know that everyone's recovery journey is different and so, you'll find a number of support options available to you.
